MOVING STORIES: Tales of Hope and Migration

We had an amazing run of performances last week.

Moving Stories Feature on ITV

Reviews from audience members:

Incredibly powerful performance, clearly created with enormous love and integrity, telling the shocking and haunting stories of refugees. The stories are embedded in beautiful songs and soundscapes, beautifully performed by the choir.
Heart breaking and heart opening.
This important piece deserves to be seen by a much broader and wider audience!

This was a beautiful but heartbreaking experience. Awful, awful stories, turned into something with dignity, poise, rhythm and continuity by the skilled writing of Moxie et al. These stories were set in an eerie juxtaposition against the most haunting, ethereal, majestic choral pieces- written and led by Lucy Renwick.

An absolutely intense, beautiful and heart breaking project. Totally TOTALLY worth the experience…. an eye opener. True stories…. believe it or not!

Moving Stories Community Choir, directed by Kate Howard, was formed just 4 weeks ago and is made up of people from across Dumfries & Galloway, to promote cohesion, integration and diversity in the region.

During Refugee Week 2018 (June 18-24th), the choir will perform a series of concerts with songs composed by myself, inspired by the stories of those who have moved to D&G from outwith Scotland. The songs are accompanied by beautiful portraits of those who told their stories by photographer Kim Ayres, and spoken word pieces written by Moxie DePaulitte, founder of Massive Outpouring Of Love, the Dumfries refugee support charity.

22nd June: The Print Room, Wigtown 7.30pm

Nijuman no Borei Film Soundtrack Sept 2017

In September 2017 I composed a soundtrack for this film, with production help from my pal Ross Winter (aka Rosski), as part of Sanctuary Lab 2017.

Every now and then I’ll put up new demos of stuff I’m working on, or feel excited by. Here are a few to get us started…
